The headset offers a range of up to 12 meters or 40 feet. During our tests, the range was reliable, allowing freedom to move to other rooms while staying connected. This added flexibility is useful, as you can keep listening even when stepping away from your PC.

The audio performance, especially in the mids, stands out. However, the headset struggles in more complex soundscapes, especially during action-packed moments.
The 7.1 surround sound, available only on PC, is a key selling point. You can activate it by double-tapping a dial on the right ear cup. Unfortunately, there’s no sound or light indicator to confirm activation. However, the iCUE software offers more control over this feature, including EQ presets and RGB lighting.

The Corsair VOID Elite delivers impressive audio quality, especially for its price range. In Journey, the headset’s clarity and power were evident. It handles mids particularly well, enhancing atmospheric moments like footsteps in Horizon Zero Dawn or monster sounds in Resident Evil.
However, in busier scenes, the audio can become muddled. When multiple sounds compete for attention, the soundscape loses some clarity. Even so, the performance is commendable for a headset at this price point.
The microphone is also a standout feature. In Discord voice chats, it picked up audio with great precision and minimized background noise. The flip-to-mute function is convenient for quick mic control, adding to the overall practicality of the headset.
